Hana Yilma Godine

This catalog is published on the occasion of Ethiopian painter Hana Yilma Godine’s solo exhibition, A Brush in the Universe, taking place at Fridman Gallery and Rachel Uffner Gallery in January – March 2024. This marks the second time the galleries are collaborating to present Godine’s work, having jointly organized A Hair Salon in Addis Ababa in 2022. The second part of this publication includes the Hair Salon paintings, and a selection of works from Godine’s first two exhibitions with Fridman Gallery, Substance in Ethiopia and Spaces within Space, accompanied by an essay by Taylor Michael.
