Artist Talk with Jack Arthur Wood & Carrie Moyer:

In celebration of Jack Arthur Wood's solo exhibition One thing's sure, I'm here to see those lights in our Upstairs Gallery, Rachel Uffner Gallery invites you to a special evening of conversation.
The evening will begin with a discussion between Jack Arthur Wood and Carrie Moyer, and finish with a Q&A between the artists and the audience. This event is free and open to the public.

Jack Arthur Wood (b. 1990, Cincinnati, OH) received his BA from Guilford College in 2012 and his MFA from Texas A&M University in 2017. Wood also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in Madison, ME in 2018. Wood has had solo/two-person presentations at Green House Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Conduit Gallery, Ridgewood, NY; Paradice Palase, Brooklyn, NY; Not Gallery, Austin TX; The Weil Gallery, Corpus Christi, TX; Hudson & Jones Gallery, Cincinnati, OH; and The Bakery, Vancouver, BC. His work has been exhibited. at Geary Contemporary, Millerton, NY; Field of Play Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Ortega Y Gasset, Brooklyn, NY; O'Flaherty's, New York, NY; The Ekru Project,Kansas City, MO; Heaven Gallery, Chicago, IL; Pause OFF Gallery, Milford, OH; Deanna Evans Projects, Brooklyn, NY; and 5-50 Gallery, Queens, NY. Jack Arthur Wood lives and works in Queens, NY.
Carrie Moyer is an artist and writer. Her work has been exhibited widely, in both the US and Europe. Museums shows include the 2017 Whitney Biennial, and a traveling survey, Carrie Moyer: Pirate Jenny, that originated at the Tang Museum in 2013. Moyer has received awards from the Guggenheim and Joan Mitchell Foundations, Anonymous Was a Woman, and Creative Capital among others. With photographer Sue Schaffner, she co-founded one of the first lesbian public art projects, Dyke Action Machine!, which was active in New York City between 1991-2008. Moyer's writing has appeared anthologies and periodicals such as Art in America, Brooklyn Rail, Artforum, Modern Painters and others. Moyer is a professor and Co-Director of the MFA Program in Studio Art at Hunter College. Moyer is represented by Alexander Gray Associates.
