Florencia Escudero by Kerri Ammirata: Sculptural works inspired by internet culture.

Florencia Escudero’s curious, humanoid sculptures are investigations of digital culture, the female experience, and craft. Her practice doesn’t fit into one medium, one theme, or one interest; instead, it expands in various directions. The work emulates our lives on the internet by asking us to participate visually in the objectification of each artwork.
Florencia and I met up to talk about her two-venue exhibition Phygitalia, spanning across Manhattan at Rachel Uffner Gallery on the Lower East Side and Kristen Lorello on the Upper East Side, where the second part of the show recently closed.
