Phygitalia April 26 - June 29, 2024Florencia Escudero's (b. 1987, Singapore) sculptures include soft and handmade components printed with digitally-rendered imagery. Escudero's recent solo and two-person exhibitions have been organized by Rachel Uffner Gallery and Kristen Lorello Gallery, New York, NY. Among her recent group exhibitions are shows at Chez Max et Dorothea, Los Angeles, CA; Bonamatic, Copenhagen, Denmark; CPM Gallery, Baltimore, MD; The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT; Walter Elwood Contemporary, Amsterdam, NY; Mrs. Gallery, New York, NY; Friedrich Petzel Gallery (Chelsea), New York, NY; La MaMa Galleria, New York, NY; and PAD Gallery, New York, NY. Her work has been shown in the US and internationally, including at Peter Freeman, Inc., the Birmingham Museum of Art, and el Museo del Barrio. Her work has been discussed in publications such as The Brooklyn Rail and artcritical, and on the video interview series, Gorky's Granddaughter. She is a recipient of residencies at Yaddo (Saratoga Springs, NY), The Marble House Project (Dorset, VT), and the Elizabeth Murray Art Residency (Granville, NY), and a 2013 Rema Hort Mann Foundation Emerging Art Award.
