Rachel Uffner Gallery is pleased to present Pageant of Inconceivables, a group exhibition of fourteen artists producing ceramic works that reflect on the human condition in a variety of approaches and scale.

From Ann Agee’s depictions of bra burners to Arnie Zimmerman’s dream-like vessels, the works in Pageant of Inconceivables explore themes of empathy and humanity with a sense of humor and a whimsical invocation of the figurative. They demonstrate the depth to which personal narrative and expression can be interpreted through the materials and traditions of the ceramic medium.

The works, over forty in number, are displayed on a continuous shelf that wraps around the perimeter of the upstairs gallery—transforming the presentation into a procession of unpredictable beauty.

Pageant of Inconceivables originated at the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild in Woodstock, New York.
