Hana Yilma Godine

Hana Yilma Godine (b. 1987, Arssi Negele, Ethiopia) received an MFA from Boston University in 2020, having previously studied at Casa Da Zhventude de Ourence, Spain; the Abyssinia School of Fine Art and Design, and the Ale School of Fine Art and Design, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where her teacher was the modernist master Tadesse Mesfin. Godine’s recent solo exhibitions include A Brush in the Universe in 2024, and A Hair Salon in Addis Ababa in 2022, both of which were dual venue presentations hosted by Fridman Gallery, New York, NY, and Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York, NY. Godine’s debut U.S. solo show Spaces within Space, opened at Fridman Gallery in 2020. Recent group exhibitions include NOW, Museu Inima De Paula, Brazil, andthe National Museum of Ethiopia in 2021. The artist currently lives and works in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
